Martin Mosko, founder and principal of Marpa Design Studio, graduated from Yale University and has trained extensively with Japanese master gardeners both in the U.S. and Japan. He has designed and built private and public gardens in the Rocky Mountains and throughout the U.S. for 35 years, which have been recognized for their unsurpassed artistry as well as technical excellence. The firm has won 51 state and national awards and has been recognized for its contributions to the built environment by the American Institute of Architects.

In addition to his responsibilities at Marpa, Mosko is abbot of Hakubai Temple, co-author of the book Landscape As Spirit: Creating a Contemplative Garden, and travels the country lecturing on garden design, the art of rock setting, photography, and meditation.

Luke Sanzone, a licensed Landscape Architect, graduated from The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) with degrees in Fine Arts and Landscape Architecture.  In addition to his continued studies in Construction Science and Management at Colorado State University, he is also in the process of becoming a LEED accredited professional.

Luke has been designing and overseeing the construction of private and public gardens with Marpa for over 10 years.  Luke brings the utmost creativity, project planning, and honed construction management skills to every one of his projects.  From large-scale gardens like Five Realms, to small, intimate spaces like expression: BLUE, Luke strives to create gardens that not only respond his client’s needs with the utmost elegance, but also, landscapes that blur the boundaries between design, art, and construction.  Luke believes that a Landscape Architect’s ability to orchestrate experience on multiple levels leads to gardens that engage the senses and spirit.
